Episode 410: Welcome, fellow Disney enthusiasts, to another exciting episode of Traveling with the Mouse! In this edition, we join Jason and Adam on their recent trip Walt Disney World. Join us as we delve into their experiences staying in a treehouse villa, reconnecting with friends who hadn’t visited in years, and Adam’s extra day at Wilderness Lodge. Nestled amidst the lush vegetation of Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, Jason and Adam enjoyed the tranquility of a Treehouse Villa. These unique accommodations, perched high above the ground, provided a sense of seclusion and a touch of wilderness while still being part of the enchanting resort atmosphere. Surrounded by nature, they were able to unwind and recharge after days filled with Disney adventures. We were joined by some friends who hadn’t been in several years so we hit all of the new highlights like Tron, Guardians of the Galaxy, Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. We also had some great experiences at Enzo’s Hideaway, La Cava Del Tequila, and Baseline taphouse to name a few. We also had to visit this classic attractions like Carousel of Progress, Tom Sawyer Island, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates. Adam also stayed an extra night at Wilderness Lodge and went to Geyser Point.

Episode 408: Welcome back, fellow Disney enthusiasts, to another exciting episode of the Traveling with the Mouse podcast! This episode Jon and I catch up on the latest news and rumors and we can’t help but chat about our latest Disney World trips. We will go more in depth in next week’s episode but we had to cover some of the details of our recent vacations. In the news, we have a new pricing structure for Disney Genie Plus that goes into effect June 27th. The Reflections resort may not be dead in the water after all. The Dinosaur attraction at Animal Kingdom has seen better days. It’s almost like they are ready to pull the plug on it. And in some ways they already have. Indiana Jones meet and greet is coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World is gearing up for 4th of July. In our next episode, we’ll be diving deep into our respective experiences with our trip reports so stay tuned.

We’ve personally stayed at many of these resorts and have found that they all have their own charm and benefits. You’ll need to factor in the cost of transportation and the time it takes to get to and from the parks. On the other hand, staying on Disney property can be more convenient, we still recommend driving your own car as bus transportation can be very slow. In the end, the best way to save money on a Disney vacation will depend on your individual preferences and budget. Whether you choose to stay on or off Disney property, there are options available that can help you save money without sacrificing the magic of a Disney vacation.

Episode 399: Welcome to another exciting episode of Traveling with the Mouse, where we bring you the latest updates on all things Disney! In this episode, we’ll be catching up on the news from the past few weeks, including updates on the Reedy Creek situation, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Magic Kingdom Expansion, Happily Ever After, Tron, and the removal of the Harmonious barges. First up, we talk about the ongoing situation between Bob Iger and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over the Reedy Creek Improvement District. Next, we have some updates on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Construction continues to move rapidly at Walt Disney World and we now have a closing date for Splash Mountain at Disneyland. There’s also some rumors floating around about major changes to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom and those beyond Big Thunder lands. Also, Jason and Adam have just returned from a trip to Walt Disney World, and while we won’t be covering their trip report in this episode, we can’t wait to hear all about it in next week’s show.

Episode: 380. This is Halloween, This is Halloween, This is Halloween and we bring you a special spooky edition of Traveling with the Mouse. We talk all things scary, like the latest news from Bob and Josh. We give our thoughts on the changes that we know will be in Fantasmic when it returns in a few days. It’s no secret that we weren’t the biggest fans of Fantasmic but will these new updates entice us to go see it again? Blizzard beach is seeing some new IP related updates for when it reopens. It’s looking like interest in the Galactic Starcruiser is starting to fade. (but we are open to a comped star cruise if your are listening Disney) We also have a discussion around our favorite Disney villains.

Episode 377: We discuss our experiences with Epcot throughout the years up to the current day and then we talk about what we think the future will be at our favorite park. We both have a lot of fond memories from the 80’s and early 90’s from the original Epcot center days. We also have a lot from the current Epcot configuration. We do believe that Epcot got the bad luck of having such a big renovation to happen just as the pandemic started. So much has been severely scaled back or outright put on hold during this time that we are getting a fraction of what was planned. We also discuss some news.

We go through the list and discuss our favorites for this year. It’s hard to believe that it is already that time of year. Also, the after hours events are coming back in 2023. Is it still worth it? Episode 369: We catch up on the Disney news of the week. Disney had a big earnings call this week and the profits are back up to pre-pandemic levels. We talk about how the parks are a big reason for that and what it could mean for future developments. Disney remains silent about magic key renewals as they try to increase guest yields. We discuss how that could impact things in a negative way in the long term. Meanwhile a new update to Genie plus creates a problem with park hopping and securing lightning lanes. Also, what’s up with Chapek’s Beard?

Episode 365: We now have an episode for every day of the year! (except for leap year) Jon and I catch up on the latest Disney News. An Icon has been removed from World Drive which makes us nostalgic for the things of the past. Meanwhile we talk about the Food and Wine Festival and how it used to be a lot shorter. The play pavilion construction appears to be starting soon. We also talk about what an Indiana Jones land and Animal Kingdom might look like. Also in the news was rumor that Bob Iger isn’t happy that he selected Dr. Evil as his replacement as CEO. All that and more!

Episode 347: Today we discuss our initial thoughts about the Galactic Starcruiser. There’s a lot to cover but the early reviews are generally positive. We discuss what we liked and disliked. Also, we try to answer the question, what would it take for us to book a star cruise. Jason is going to be in Walt Disney World next week so he also gives us a little preview of his trip. Episode: 337. Happy early Thanksgiving to all! Today Jon and I are holding down the fort as Jason is on the road this week. Jon gives us an update on booking dining as his trip is now 60 days out. He tells us his experience with searching for and grabbing those important dinning reservations. We then move on to some news. It was a fairly light news week but we manage to find some interesting things to discuss. The big rumor that we hope will be revealed this weekend is that a certain night-time parade could be coming to Walt Disney World. Also, a certain CEO isn’t able to make it to the D23 event in Orlando this week. There’s been a lot of PR work on Disney’s part to explain why he won’t be there.

Episode 325: Disney finally let the Genie out of the lamp this week but is he working for Aladdin or Jafar? We break down what we think of the new paid fastpass service. Can we find a silver lining? We have known that this was coming for quite a while and now that it is here, we break down what we know about it. We are quick to say that it could certainly have been far worse in terms of the type of money grab that most people think that it is. That being said, we aren’t that happy with fastpass being a paid service now. We go through what attractions will be included in the lightning lane only upcharge for each park. Rumors are that there will be 2 attractions at each park that will require the per ride fee. We also, look at each park and decide would we pay the $15 per person fee for the Disney Genie+ service. Our answers might surprise you. In other news, I go through the list of construction projects and what we think will be the current opening time for each. We wrap up the show with a rapid fire of other news stories from the week.

Episode 324: Today we recap the latest Disney news and Jason weighs in with his thoughts on the Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser announcements. We cover some other news like the first Boo Bash and what we think of it compared to the Halloween Party. Is it worth the hefty price tag? We also start talking about some of the recent job posting that Disney has been hiring for at Walt Disney World. Some of those include Monorail cast members and Skyliner cast members. That got us thinking, if we could have any cast member job at Disney…What would it be? We give some updates to the Scarlet Johannsen Disney legal battle and we reveal that we scored a passholder preview for Remy’s Ratatouille adventure at Epcot. We wrap up the show by hearing from Jason on if he think the Galactic Starcruiser is worth it.

Eposide 321: Today is episode 321 and we are counting down to…something. We’ll figure that out as we go. We discuss the Disney news of the week and Jon talks about his latest trip to the Philadelphia area where he made some stops at Sesame Place and Hershey. In the Disney news, the Epcot monorail is back! The Hall of President’s is re-opening next month. The Polynesian is slowly re-opening but not everything is fully operational yet. Food and Wine Festival is going and Jason gives us his ranking of the Epcot Festivals while Jon considers renaming Epcot to Efcot. Jon then walks us through his trip to Pennsylvania. He gives a review of Sesame Place and breaks down what he liked and didn’t like about the park. He also walks us through the other stops he made on his trip including a stop in Amish country and Hershey PA. I’ll be at Walt Disney World this weekend to see if I can recapture some of the magic that the recent news has zapped out of us. I’ll report back next week!

Epcot has something new that reminds of the Epcot of old. Someone tried to drive down the stair in their car at Wilderness Lodge and the People Mover is going to be down for quite a while for a much needed refurbishment. We also talked about what DVC resort we would pick as our home resort if all of the sudden we could pick from any of them.

We also cover the recent news like the fact that Disney has officially announced the closure of three attractions. Could more closures be on the horizon? What other attractions could be at risk? We also talk about the annual pass options for cancelling or extending your pass. During my trip report I talk about the crowd levels on each day and my first ride experience on Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway. At Epcot I got to experience what I call the Flower, Food, Wine and Garden festival, I give my pick for best dish at the festival. I also had great dinning experiences at California Grill and Olivia’s. Overall if you are considering going to Disney in the near future I would say that you should use extreme caution and make sure that you are OK with the risk but also know that Disney has done a lot to make things as safe as they can.

However, Hong Kong Disneyland is closing once again. We discuss some of the new procedures that are happening at Epcot and Hollywood Studios and what rides feel safer than other. There’s a lot of new discounts coming out for annual passholders for resorts and merchandise. Disney is also giving passholders more information on extending their pass or cancelling and refunding passes. We have new activity going on with the Star Wars galactic star cruiser and more construction updates. We also preview my trip that I will discuss next week.

We caused quite the debate with our poll on which side to start with when visiting World Showcase at Epcot. Do you start with Mexico or Canada? We discuss the differing opinions and give our thoughts. We also had a poll last week where we asked which form of transportation would you most like to ride for fun…The Monorail or the Skyliner. We discuss the results of that poll as well. In the news, Walt Disney World is re-opening as we speak and the early results so far have been positive. There was a huge mistake this week with erroneous charges to annual passholders that had to be reversed. We also discuss the precautions that Disney has made to try and make the parks as safe a possible.

4F767C33-868C-400E-97D9-30771E46D854Episode:272. It is becoming more difficult to keep up with the frequent changes coming from Disney as they prepare to re-open in just a few short weeks from now. We discuss some of the major changes like the cancellation of all Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party’s for 2020. There is some good news though, the food and wine festival at Epcot is starting July 15th and will last through the fall. The event will be scaled back considerably, however. We also discuss some rumors of more projects being cancelled like the Reflections resort. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet but we expect to hear in the coming months about some major cost cutting. We will talk more next week about the new reservation system and see how it works.

There’s a lot of news surrounding the limitations and restrictions that guests will face once Disney World re-opens on July 11th. Guests who have existing reservations at a Disney resort are not guaranteed entry to the parks. Some resort amenities and restaurants will also not be available right away. We list out all of those details for you. Other topics we cover are things like, the castle repainting has resumed and The NBA is officially going to finish their season at the Wide World of Sports complex. We wrap up the episode by going through some Disney history from this week in June.
