Episode 291: The Hurricane slowed us down a little bit this week but better late than never to discuss the latest Disney News. Today we cover more of the depressing layoffs news within the Disney Parks. This week the majority of the performance cast members have been laid off. There’s still drama out in California but Disney is being creative by using some of California Adventure park as a retail space. Rise of the resistance saw a few new changes roll out this week. More maintenance projects have been announced and some have been delayed yet again. Bob Chapek finally responds to Senator Elizabeth Warren’s letter from a couple of weeks ago. Episode 289: Jason just got back from a busy holiday weekend and Walt Disney World. He gives his full trip report but first we do discuss some of the recent Disney News. The drama out of California is continuing to develop. We discuss the latest with the status of Disneyland and when they might be able to get some guidelines on re-opening. Senator Elizabeth Warren wrote a letter to Disney’s CEO asking for a details on why they proceeded to lay-off 28k workers while executives full salaries were re-instated. She also questioned the stock buyback policies that Disney has been taking part in over the past few years. Disney did respond but not directly answering her questions. In other news, There’s a new pop-up store for Annual Passholders at Epcot and Ratatouille will have a single rider line. The people mover refurbishment will be delayed yet again and the trailer for the new Pixar film Soul has been released. Jason then goes through his trip report from Walt Disney World over the holiday weekend. He let’s us know what the crowds were like and if Disney enforced the mask policy. He stayed at the Yacht Club and gives us his review on the resort and Stormalong Bay. He also got to experience Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and the B-mode for Kylo Ren in Rise of the Resistance.
Episode 281: We discuss the latest Disney news and get a health update from Jon. Now that it has been 3 weeks since he started dealing with Covid-19 Jon is almost back to 100%. Jon also updates us on re-scheduling his Disney Cruise for next year. We talk about some helpful updates to the My Disney Experience app when it comes to getting a Rise of the Resistance boarding group. Speaking of Rise of the Resistance, the final Kylo Ren animatronic was down extensively the other day…We talk about how we like the B-mode of that scene instead. I also point out that there’s a scene in Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway that is very similar to that scene in ROTR. Finally we wrap up the episode by talking about Bob Chapek’s comments on the recent earnings call that got him into some hot water with annual passholders. Please check out our YouTube channel. Episode:279. Today, we reveal that one of us has tested positive for Corona-virus. We also discuss the latest Disney News. The movie release of Mulan is coming to Disney+ for an additional fee. The Disney 3rd quarter earnings call happened this week and there’s some good and bad things that came out of it. Annual Passholders are continuing to see some extra love and attention these days with extended discounts and of course a new magnet! (one per household). The average wait times for 3 of the 4 Walt Disney world parks has gone up week by week since re-opening but one park has seen wait times go down. Could you guess which one? Splash mountain had a boat sink as well this week and had to close for a couple of days. Isn’t that the attraction to have a boat sink this year?
Episode 259: Better late than never! This week we had a delay in our recording schedule because of our recent Disney trip but we have so much news to cover that this is a jumbo episode of Traveling with the Mouse! Disney has a new CEO and Walt Disney world has a very bad week full of ride issues. Spaceship Earth has an official refurbishment date and the Emperor is in fact a clone in Rise of Skywalker. Jason and I went to Disney World this weekend and Jason got to ride Rise of the Resistance for the first…and second time but it wasn’t without drama. We had some really good dining experiences and we survived the crowds and short park hours. This is a big episode…get ready!
Episode 229: As always we discuss the latest Disney news & Rumors! We cover some new things exclusively coming the the Hollywood Studios version of Galaxy’s Edge. Tower of Terror has completed it’s refurbishment. Epcot’s project gamma is continuing to expand. The NBA experience is now quite operational. There was some unusual maintenance issues at Disneyland recently. And finally we preview the upcoming D23 convention in Anaheim. We give some rumors as well as our wish list of things we’d like to see announced.
